For those of you who are still wondering whatever happened to all the dinosaurs, meet the Shoebill Stork – or the so-called Balaeniceps rex. As you can see the resemblances between this bird and the ancient dinosaurs are uncanny.
The dinosaur origin of birds is down to their genes
The comparison between birds and dinosaurs isn’t as odd as you might think. Genetic analysis has shown that birds are the most direct descendant of dinosaurs that still live on the planet today. It has even been shown possible for birds to grow teeth with a relatively (for geneticists, mind,) simple genetic modification.
Imagine The Birds, only now they have teeth too.
