This guy built a Star Wars-esque laser shotgun in his garage that sets things on fire!

If you’re one of those people who looks at a Star Wars film, and thinks: “I’ve got to get me one of those laser guns!”, you’ll probably have a lot to take about with Drake Anthony a.k.a. Styropyro on YouTube. Anthony calls himself a mad scientist, and enjoys building all kinds of lasers out of various materials.

Anthony’s most recent creation is something that will make any pyromaniac drool: a laser shotgun that can easily set things on fire, and it’s only 40W! Anthony’s laser is made up of 8 parallel 5W laser beams, which are manipulated with lenses. It’s powered by a huge lithium polymer battery pack, and the laser array is regulated by a whopping 24 LM317 driver.

Though it looks incredible cool, Anthony knows what he’s doing as he’s built all kinds of different lasers already (check out his YouTube channel for more of his inventions), so don’t try this at home. Let the “professionals” handle it. Check out the video to see Anthony set fire to all kinds of things!
