This box shows the weather forecast with REAL rain and clouds

The weather: it’s probably one of the most difficult things to predict. This is especially true in those parts of the world with a coastal climate. But this didn’t hold the software engineer Ken Kawamoto back from creating something really cool – a box that shows tomorrow’s weather on your table with REAL rain and clouds.

The Temposcope is able to produce REAL rain and clouds

Yes that’s right, rain and clouds inside a little transparent box! How does it work? Well, the box – or temposcope – receives weather forecasts from the Internet and converts this data into real rain or clouds.

Unfortunately, the box is not able to produce snow, but what is awesome: the project is open source. So if you have any technical chops, you can make one for yourself! Check out the schematics and code for this device over here.

Furthermore, if you want to learn more about the Temposcope be sure to check out the video below or Kawamoto’s webpage.
